California Scrub Oak - Quercus berberidifolia

All the benefits of an oak for local birds and butterflies in a smaller shrub-form! This slowly growing local native oak is perfect for gardens too small for an oak tree, offering a beautiful specimen that can be pruned to any size.

Care guide: prune to shape as needed preferably in fall before rainy season begins. Do not prune immediately before or after rain! Older plants can be pruned to remove lower limbs, creating a small tree-like form. Check to be sure no nesting birds are present before pruning (usually fall pruning will prevent this).
